Story of our Cooperative activity began in September 1952. For the first seven years its main aim was to supervise the state, cooperative and private property and possession.

In1959 we started brush making production that was mainly exported to North America. In the same year the name of our Firm was changed into Spółdzielnia Inwalidów "POSTĘP" (Cooperative of Invalids "PROGRESS"). The Cooperative production and service range was intensely developed for the following five years. Employment was increased too and in the end of 1963 there were above 600 employees.

In the years of 1962-66 the Cooperative activity was extended by consecutive lines of business. Among other things manufacturing of the leather accessories was initiated and during the next years this kind of production was dominant. Character of this production and requirements within the scope of rehabilitation of employed disabled workers was a base of the Cooperative long-term investment plan. According to the plan a new seat of the Cooperative was built in the years of 1976-79 that was adapted to the production profile.

In the Eighties the Cooperative export activity was being intensely developed. In the end of that decade above 80% of leather bags and purses was exported, mainly to West Germany. At the turn of 1989/1990 the Cooperative started to change over to conditions of market economy. It was worked out and introduced the Cooperative plan of its restructuring, assortment optimization and employment improvement.

At the present the basic Cooperative activity is focused on:

production of children's footwear,
production of bags and purses,
production of anti-bedsore and rehabilitative goods,
rendering services in the range of manufacturing of the textiles products.

The Program to adapt the Cooperative organization and activity to the changing market conditions is continuously realized. We also penetratingly analyze the state policy to the cooperative business entities and plants of protected labor.

In order to strengthen our market position and to gain new customers the Spółdzielnia Inwalidów "POSTĘP" performs the following tasks:

improvement of pattern-designing and searching for new product lines,
constant perfecting of marketing actions and techniques,
constant training of workers to increase their qualifications,
constant quality improvement of management methods and realization of processes through the implemented system of quality assurance according to the standard: PN- ISO 9001: 2000.

Taking into consideration the firm development the Cooperative searches for partners for common economic undertakings (in different forms).
